Have I Seen You Somewhere Before?

Image
With flash. Now, you may have realised, but I'm really getting in to my blue and purple nail polishes recently. It's really strange, as up until recently I only had a handful, can you believe it? It's funny, I feel like I'm growing as a 'polishista'. Hmmmm, is that even a word? But hopefully you'll get what I mean. You may have seen I got this little lady in a recent haul and I have to say, the bottle is teeny tiny! I am of course talking about Essie Smooth Sailing . As soon as I saw her I was really excited as the colour appeared in the bottle to be very similar to one of my favourite polishes, OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam.  Smooth Sailing is a gorgeous periwinkle blue with silver shimmer that sometimes flashes a little pink in the bottle, but on the nail I can only see silver.  Without flash, artificial light.  Compared to the OPI she is slightly deeper blue and less dusty. The shimmer is only silver, whereas the IDGAR's...

Don't Judge Me!

Right, I know this is getting out of hand now, but do you know what? I don't feel bad... It's hard work being a single Mum, especially when you live with a disease that effects you on a daily basis, so why shouldn't I treat myself to things for my nails?  Left to right, Sally Hansen Supershine, Gel Cuticle Remover, Advanced Hard As Nails, Double Duty, Continuous Treatment.  First off let's start with the Sally Hansen nail care. You know I like to try out base and top coats, plus I use them up really quickly as I'm painting my nails pretty much every day at the moment. You may have noticed as a result of me doing my nails so often, my poor cuticles have not been looking too great so I grabbed some cuticle oil and remover.  Left to right, Sally Hansen Sea & Be Seen, Metallic Momentum, Pepto Pink, Grape Going!,  Whirlwind White, Gold Flash.  Next we have the Sally Hansen Insta Dri's . I was really impressed with the others that I've alrea...

Like Putty On My Hands

Orly Top 2 Bottom, 2 Coats OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?, Orly Top 2 Bottom, with flash.  Hi all, here I am again. Today I have a really interesting nudey polish to show you called,  Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh ? This nude little gal is originally from this years Holland Collection. This is one polish of three that  that I got in a recent haul ( click here to see the haul ). This is a really nice creamy nude which is a cross between putty and khaki. It's so refreshing to see a nude that has green undertones, it makes it really neutral but different to allot of other nudes out there. The formula was really nice on this one, she's a great creme polish to work with and is a little thicker than some other nudes, so you only need to paint two coats to get this fab opaque coverage. She dries lovely and quick between coats, and gives you a nice shiny finish. The pictures shown are with Orly's Top 2 Bottom top coat, although it was fairly shiny without it. ...

Pedal Faster Butterflies

Image
Orly Top 2 Bottom, 3 Coats OPI Pedal Faster Suzi, Konad White BM205, Orly Top 2 Bottom, with flash.  Evening all, I have to apologise for my lack of posting and replying to messages, but I had to give myself the weekend off. As you may know from my For Audrey Post ( click here to see it ) my Nan is very ill and there has been allot going on so I just didn't have time to post. This is a mani that I did last week, but as it was a bit of a fail I didn't post it until now.  For the base I started with a layer of Orly Top 2 Bottom, then three coats of OPI Pedal Faster Suzi . This polish was a little sheerer and patchy that I thought it would be, but it's still very pretty. I will be doing a review on it in the future.  I then decided to stamp with the butterfly design on my Bundle Monster BM205 plate using Konad Special White. I was inspired to use this by another blogger using it recently (I'm sorry I can't remember who) as her mani came out so beautifull...

Pink Wednesday's Proposal

Image
Orly Top 2 Bottom, 4 Coats OPI SRU, 1 coat SH Pink Proposal, Orly Top 2 Bottom, with  flash.  Hi all, here we are back at Wednesday again! How did that happen so fast? I swear time is seeming to go so fast at the moment and think it's to do with me running out of time to find a house. I've already moved in to my parents house to try and make me feel more secure, and not jump at the first house ending up in one that I don't really like. I just can't believe there's no houses that I like at the moment. As above, in sunlight. So, on to Pink Wednesday. This week I've chosen to do a pink combo. It didn't start out that way, I was originally just going to paint my nails with OPI Step Right Up but it came out more of a milky white with just a tinge of pink. This polish is also very sheer and it took me four coats to get it anywhere near opaque and it was still patchy. I also felt it just wasn't pink enough for a Pink Wednesday Mani. As top, i...

Just A Little Nail Mail

Image
Left to right, Orly In A Snap, Orly Top 2 Bottom, OPI Did You  Ear About Van Gogh?, OPI  I Don't Give A Rotterdam, OPI Pedal Faster Suzie One night last week I was sitting looking at some nail blogs on my phone and realised I hadn't been on a favourite website of mine for a while. I wasn't actually planning on buying anything, but when I saw they had some of the OPI Holland Collection, I just had to indulge. As you can see I also grabbed a base coat and top coat in one, and then a quick dry top coat. I always like to try new base and top coats, and as I've been really loving Orly polishes I wanted to see if these were as good. I bought these from Cheapsmells.com as I have had good experiences with them several times. Delivery is quick, they come well packaged inside a sturdy box and I've always been happy so never had to contact them. They have random polishes on there and their stock is always changing so worth having a look. They also offer free postage a...

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink (Better late than never)

Image
Hi there everyone, I know it's actually Thursday now but I haven't been able to do any blog posts or reply to comments in the last couple of days due to my Nan being very ill. It's a very hard time for me and my family... I really wanted to do my pink Wednesday post so I'm still doing it, just a day late. So here is the beautiful OPI Sparrow Me The Drama, from the Pirate's Of The Caribbean collection. I got this in one of my recent hauls from Fragrance Direct for only £6.45, bargain! If you want to see which other polishes I got, you can click here . This is a gorgeous deep but bright cool toned pink. The formula for this was absolutely wonderful and with two coats you get a perfect finish. The pictures shown are with just two coats and I had no issues with it at all. This is a really stunning colour and suits my 'English Rose' skin tone really nicely. If you haven't tried this colour, I would highly recommend it!  That's all f...

OPI Nail Of The Day/ Review

Image
OPI Steady As She Rose, 3 Coats, Sally Hansen Max Growth Base Coat, with Flash. So here I am, I'm definately on a roll with getting back in to blogging and I think it's due to my new found love of all things nail polish! I've always worn it & had about 25/30 polishes in a box to keep my fingers looking pretty but in the last few weeks when I was on bed rest I've really been enjoying more nail related blogs and have found myself wanting to try more and more and I've even just put an order in for some stamping plates. I am a complete stamping virgin so it will probably be some time before I post any of my stamping, but I'm really looking forward to getting started with it! Let's talk about the polish in the picture, first of all please let me apologise for the poor effort of clean-up. I didn't notice until I came to upload this post so unfortunately you'll just have to excuse it lol. This gorgeous creamy polish is OPI Steady As She Rose ...

Can You Say Polish Obsessed? NOTD Again!

OPI In The Spotlight Pink, 4 coats, no topcoat (with flash) Eve'nin all, and here we have my first Nail Of The Day post from my little(ish) haul. I was itching to try out one of the OPI's first so I chose the pretty pink one called In The Spotlight Pink . This was originally from the Femme De Cirque Collection last year. After I'd already ordered it I read a review (backwards huh??) and someone said that it was a PITA to apply but actually I didn't find that at all. I applied thin coats, took my time and it seemed to glide on really well and evenly without any streaks. It was slightly runny, but not in a bad way if you know what I  mean? OPI In The Spotlight Pink, 4 coats, no top coat  (without flash) The colour is a very sheer, but very pretty delicate warm pink with a milky/gelish high-shine finish. If you apply only one or two coats then you are looking at pretty much zero colour but a nice shiny even finish with a hint of the pi...
